Individual Designs
Our designs are inspired by life, they’re inspired by the long weekend get togethers you don’t want to end, by warm nights spent next to loved ones and by the feeling of finishing off a long day and coming home. They’re inspired by alfrescos, libraries, theatres, man caves & craft rooms. So when we design a home it’s designed around you.
The design of your home has four major steps in creating a home that’s designed for you down to the finest detail.
The design brief
First off is creating a floor plan. We start by getting a design brief from you, this includes the basics like number of bedrooms, living areas, single or double storey, any design features you’ve seen and loved. Do you have an architectural style preference? Whether it be modern, neo-classical, Australiana or anything in between it will help us make sure a theme will work with your façade and interior décor.
We then get a better idea of what’s important for you, things like do you want to look over your kid’s playroom to keep an eye on them, or will it be a separate theatre room, or maybe have access to an ensuite for when guests stay over? Do you need any specialised hobby rooms that need built in benches or extra storage? How about modifying your home to improve its energy efficiency to help the environment?
Even outdoor areas and future design elements are important to consider, do you want a terrace as a part of your house, or a separate gazebo? How will your house look out onto your pool or landscape feature? Do you want space for a shed and veggie path, or would a herb garden off the kitchen be best? Anything you can tell us about yourself will help us in creating a design inspired by you.
Assessing your site
Once the design brief is set we assess your land’s size, location and any attributes relevant to designing your home. It is important for us to check your title’s boundaries along with the council development plans & zoning areas to find the maximum potential for you land. We will also assess important aspects individual to your land, things like solar orientation, existing trees, sloping land & nice views are important in creating a design tailored to your allotment.
Creating the design
With all the information acquired our award winning design team will create a concept plan inspired by you. With the floor plan finalised we can proceed with the structural documentation and energy report of your home and then acquire council planning approval and building rules consent while we finalise your design.
